Just got back from the Animal Collective concert and... well.. to be honest...

IT WAS FREAKING AMAZING

I didn't expect Vegas to be so energetic and AC-savvy, I just expected us to stand there and look around. Everyone was bouncing around and screaming the lines and they were just awesome :)

Grouper opened which was... interesting. It took me like 20 minutes to notice she was actually singing and it wasn't just a recording though :P But great music nonetheless, the video along with it was pretty cool too ;P (It looked like a close-up of bugs flying around a light. For 30 minutes.)

Animal Collective was just sublime :D The YouTube videos of them do no justice at all. People always whine they don't have enough bass. I HEARD A TON OF FREAKING BASS. The vocals (especially from Panda Bear) passed my expectations, usually he sounds kind of weak in the videos but... no. Wrong. Geologist looked a little drunk, but played great either way ;P Fireworks, Brother Sport and Summertime Clothes. Best moments of the night. Not to mention no moshpit (if you did that to Animal Collective I think you'd get shot) or people smoking :D

My friend took some photos and hopefully I can upload them. Eventually :P

If you guys ever get the chance to listen to them live. Don't hesitate, just do it.

If video(s) get uploaded on YouTube I'll be sure to update this also. So I can feel better about myself :XD:

edit: YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! After more than a month and a half I finally found an audio file for it :D [link] For some reason it's lacking the bass, so just max up the bass on your headphones.

Sounds like Noah and Avey were a little sick :c

Sounds like you had a good night :D
Up there in the best moments of your life?

ON: What happens when I'm unhappy? What happens?
CN: Fine. But not the red ones. They bind.

Sounds like an awesome time ^^

I was checking out some Grouper the other day, pretty interesting and dreamy.. seems like she'd be cool live, in a mellow/I'm not really sure what's going on sort of way xD

and the AC sounds incredible, of course, nice that it was safe and all.. did they play banshee beat? I heard a show a few weeks ago where they played this gorgeous drawn-out version at the encore... mmm, firewoooorkkks.. I hope they never stop playing it, one of the best live songs.

all of my dreams are memories that I can't place to a time or a face
:iconhatttrick:
Indeed ^^
Nah, only a few moments ;P When the bass got super dubby and Panda sounded like he was gonna break the drums. Now those were up there :)

Excited and screaming, their voices go wild
And rise with the birds mating up in the pines
Down to puddles that breathe, covered by leaves
With mud they'll make prints on their backs
:iconhatttrick:
Haha, yes! :D

Yeah she's really weird! I liked it and the video to it was really awesome, but I think we all were thinking of it more as background music rather than a performance. But she has a nice voice ^^

Nah, they didn't play Banshee Beat. Or Rabbit Dx But they did play Slippi! That song is AMAZING reworked.
I think the setlist was
Bleed
Also Frightened
My Girls
Lion in a Coma
Guys Eyes
Slippi
Fireworks
Daily Routine
What Would I Want Sky
Brother Sport
---------
Comfy in Nautica
Summertime Clothes

The Summertime Clothes was just insane.

Mhmm, kind of a rest before everybody goes insane xD
I've only listened to a few tracks, but it seems like it would be nice falling-asleep music.

Bleed is so lovely ^^
and I adore Slippi in all forms xD

comfy>>summertime clothes.. :O
summertime clothes isn't my favorite song live but that transition, and as a closer, must have been crazy.

:iconhatttrick:
Yup :)
Oh yeah, it was :D Plus we were next to speaker so it kinda shook your eardrums. It was kind of like drugs for your ears I guess o.O

I really like it :D Everyone was like "Wait, what? I thought this was Animal Collective... what's this.." and then they went into Also Frightened and then the ice finally shattered ;P
I personally can't stand the Indian version :c It makes me think of a mexican supermarket party. I don't know why D:

If you say so :XD:
I think that was my favorite part of the two, the transition. It was so perfect :D

Also: The new Lion in a Coma is really scary XD I LOVE IT! The high pitched electric shriek is just so chilling. It's sad because I started clapping like 30 seconds before everyone else because I could tell it was Lion because of the pulsing water on the ball above them (that image that they always show when the song is going). I've watched too many live shows XD

:iconkittymango:
I'm really into HTCI at the moment, takes a lot of getting used to, I suppose. I like the chaos xD (and it's nothing weird at all compared to danse O.o)

Ohhh, I meant the transition by >>, not greater than xD I like summertime clothes better, actually.

Oooh, I haven't heard that version, I'll have to fix that.

Ooohhhh. Well they're both great songs anyway XD
